... Strong winter-like system to bring snow to the mountains late
Saturday night through Monday morning... and much colder
temperatures to the entire area for most of next week...

A strong and moist winter-like system will move into the Pacific
northwest this weekend, spreading snow to the mountains from late
Saturday night all the way through early Monday morning, and
bringing much colder temperatures to the entire region for most
of next week. Snowfall amounts in the mountains will be less than
6 inches below 5000 feet, from 6 to 9 inches between 5000 and 7000
feet, and from 9 to 12+ inches above 7000 feet. In addition to the
snow, a cold front will move through Sunday night and usher in
much colder air. Highs Sunday in the 30s in the mountains and mid
40s in lower elevations will drop 10 degrees for Monday.
Temperatures will drop a few more degrees on Tuesday, resulting in
lower 30s for high temps in the lower elevations. By Wednesday,
the lower elevations may not even reach 30 for highs. A warmup
will begin Thursday, but highs in the lower elevations will still
struggle to rise above freezing.
